End-of-the-year updates!

As many of you know, I was trying very hard to have our swim team voted into the Northwest Swim Circuit. Unfortunately, they chose not to vote us in because our team is too small. The NWSC likes to hold VS meets and all the teams currently in the league have 250+ swimmers per team. Their president did inform me of other smaller teams in the Austin area, to which I will be reaching out to in the New Year. I currently plan on LVA joining TAAF again for 2023, so be thinking about if you want to make the trip to Brownsville, TX late July if your swimmer qualifies for State at the Regional swim meet (all relay teams have a high chance of qualifying). As we discovered this summer, each age group only swims one day during the State swim meet.

Our team swimsuit print has been discontinued! We will work with the ‘local’ D & J Sports for our 2023 season. The north Austin store manager said they could have a rep come out one day to Lago to assist with fitting the new suits. LVA is already on the mailing list to be contacted once the new suit designs are available.

The City of Lago Vista has reached out to me about offering swimming lessons to the public. I am hopeful this new venture will lead to even more swimmers for our team! This may also mean changing practice time from evening to early morning!

Coach Michael and I will work on planning out the details and any changes needed for the summer season at the start of the New Year. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me via email, text, or Slack!
